In this session:
- Explore the rooms at Newstead Abbey; the group will find out about some of the strange and unusual events that took place there when it was lived in by the poet Lord Byron, including his habit of doing pistol practice in the Great Hall and the fact you might meet his pet bear on the stairs!
- The group will use these stories as a stimulus to create comics book images and text to imagine and describe their own dream houses.
- Create a set of rules for their dream houses and what they might allow or disallow within them using sentences with imperatives
- This session can be combined with a house tour, or another of our creative sessions to create a full day for your class.
Duration: 1.5 hours | 10.30am–12pm or 1pm–2.30pm
